Indecisões

Compro, não compro, compro, não compro...

Comprei :) ultimamente tenho andado com umas ideias, cuja solução passava por usar fonts a imitar uma máquina de escrever antiga. Encontrei esta, usada com óptimo aspecto, barata e com portes bastante em conta, considerando que vem dos EUA. Comprei-a aqui . Vamos ver como corre. Este tipo de "Hardware" tenho sempre algum receio...acabo sempre por não comprar de fora. Só mm missangadas, livros e tecidos.

Preparativos&Compras

Hoje foi dia de investimento :)

Fui até ao Leroy para comprar um charriot(?) novo que o meu deu o último suspiro na última feira que participei. Infelizmente já não havia o modelo que eu procurava, mas ainda havia 1 último dos pequenos que serve perfeitamente.

Quando estava já para ir pagar lembrei-me de, mais uma vez, dar uma espreitadela nos toldos. Nos últimos 2 anos e meio já se tornou um hábito: passar pela secção de jardim em busca do toldo perfeito (sim daqueles dobráveis fantásticos, perfeitos, práticos...enfim, um sonho!). E para meu espanto, ali estava ele! Lindo e melhor de tudo: branco :)

Agora é só passar uma boa camada de impermeabilizante e fica prontíssimo para as feiras de Outono/Inverno ao ar livre :)

O serão de hoje foi passado a repor o stock de porta-chaves! Colecção de Outono....colorido claro :)

Amanhã, será muito provavelmente a última vez que terei oportunidade de participar na feira de Terreiro do Paço. Infelizmente há quem se ache capaz de manter viva uma feira sozinho, e assim todos os esforços tem reunido para ter a feira só para si...pois bem aí a tem, apartir do dia 11 de Julho. Faça bom proveito, que todos nós iremos para "outras bandas", e escusamos de andar a partilhar espaços com chinesices. Afinal de contas nem tudo acaba mal, quando começa mal....nada como ver o lado positivo das coisas ;)

Vacation homework - 100 covered buttons, lots of cut fabric and felt on my new Sizzix, and an unfinished lightbox...I forgot the tape! If I had the tape I would have finished it...i think... :)

A bit of my pleasure time, walks in the dunes, the perfect scenario to clear up our minds...

And after this "short" period of vacation, it's time to get back to work!

Homework

Making one of these light boxes is one of my vacations tasks...vacations are good make all those things you keep "on hold" for months, and rest a bit if you want :P . Sometimes, projects have to wait years, like my sculpey canes...I wonder if they are still usable :S

This is a light box...it seems if you have one of these you can take great pictures for your catalog/shop/portfolio...

Experiences :)

It all started with a "What if I make new and SO CUTE tags for my products?" with this, I end up search for cute deco-tapes, then cute blank card tags and then stamps... well, for deco-tapes I have no solution that buy them! There are lots of cute deco-tapes on Etsy, if you are looking for some, search there! Then blank cards, cutters, end up with a new item on my wishlist: A Sizzix! An advice: don't look for it, or you end up with less $150 hehehe kidding :) It's worth it! I will have mine in a few weeks...I hope! Neither the less, i'm already trying to imagine how can do my own extra and unique patterns for the Sizzix :) And then the stamps...I found lots of cute rubber stamps, then I tought: This is just carved rubber! Finaly a use for the kept old erasers from school time :)

I know it is a bit clumsy, and the "leg" of the Y it's to the wrong side (opsss). I only found, by accident actualy, a rubber stamps tutorial after this experience :) I only search for tutorials when I can't figure out at all how to get a certain result, and for this you actualy just need a bit of imagination, a ordinary paper cutter and a ordinary rubber. But I'm posting the tutorial I found. It was made by Suki.

And, after finding this one, I explored a bit more this subject, and this is actualy the simpliest and easy way to start, then it's up to you to open those wings and explore "rubber stamps world" by your own :) I found this interesting "solution", but it seems much harder, since rubber is much easier to cut, but just for inspiration, I found this:

Well, I joined DaWanda in January, but decided to open the store today :)

I doesn't have the "traffic" of Etsy but seems to be ok... Let's see... since is cheaper..a lot cheaper...like NO FEES! :) I have good expectations about it :)

Stones catched by my sweet mum in the Jordan river. I always like this souvenirs, dont know why but I just love them, and of course I have the habit of bring al kind of "unusefull stuff" from everywere I go :/ and she knows it :D

Among other things, they bring great pictures and memories, they loved it, looks like a nice trip to do!

New Treasury

I was once (that I know of) in a treasury, my dear friend Sharona chose me to be in one of her tresuries, but we didn't have much luck of :(

Anyway, since it's about this time of the day that treasuries are available (or not!), I went to the treasury list, and what do I find? I was in a treasury and it was in the first set of treasuries so there's hope that this one makes it to the front page! YAY!!!

Inspiration

Well it seems that she, the inspiration and/or creativity, makes her tries to come back and stay...unfortunately it has been staying for just a few days, and then...there she goes again, and I end up "alone".

Well, this time I decided to keep her, very tight, and no matter what or who, I wont let go... I promise :)

As, this is the only thing that gives me nothing but pleasure, the only thing that won't make me cry ;) The only thing I have that is "worth it" :)

I leave you my wallpaper at work :) who can stay in a bad mood with this wallpaper?!! :)

And........I have to go!! Lot's of work, new stuff to list, photos to take, images to fix and organize, measure things to list (that's the part I hate the most...:P), pricing.......PROMOTING ON ETSY!!!! Etsy really is something :)

You remember that red flower scarf? Was bought by a very sweet client that loved it! It was sold during the Mother's Day Showcase, a spot that I bought, but I forgot to share with you here...sorry!! My mind has been a bit messy in the past weeks :)

Here they are, finally they arrived, and one of them will head off to Israel :) a long trip, but it's worth it!

Ops...

Ops...yesterday I found out that I didn't buy the showcase spot in February 2nd, it was February 1st (today!) that's what happens when you don't remeber that in the US they write the month first then the day in a date, like 02-01-2008...I just saw day 2, and then didn't noticed the 1, that it couldn't be from January right? lol

And then..... It was a Storque Showcase spot and not in the Main Showcase...How can I do these things!!! I'm always the same.... :) Anyway, I hope it brings it's profit! That's what matters, and in the next time I will definitely look better to which date and showcase I purchase :))

Etsy is such a great community...everyone is so nice and friendly, I have an Etsy shop since June of 2007 and only made my 1t sale in November and the 2nd in December, so you have to be faithfull on this things, and I'm hopefull that one day I'll have an order per week (that would be really nice :)), so I really want to keep my investment on etsy, and, besides posting and promoting I decided to take a bigger step and purchased a spot on the main showcase :)))

And what is the Main Showcase you ask... :) well you have a spot here. I hope they become the most well spent $7 :)

I loved the idea and runned to Moo and order my minimoo cards, for a goodie I thought something simple and small has a cellphone pendant.

Pois é...por motivos menos felizes tenho estado afastada deste hobby que tanto prazer me tem dado.

Nem sequer "oportunidade" tive de vir aqui deixar uma mensagem de Feliz Natal nem de Bom Ano Novo. Enfim, as minhas sinceras desculpas por isso, foi uma falha muito pouco simpatica da minha parte, mas o que está feito, feito está :) Assim resta-me dizer que espero que tenham tido um Natal feliz cheio de doces e coisas boas e um fim de ano bem animado.

Mas acho que ainda vou a tempo de desejar um FELIZ 2008!! Que seja um ano bom e vos traga muitos momentos de felicidade :)

Livro do mês / Book of the month

Aqui fica a minha sugestão para este mês :) Livro excelente para quem está a começar a fazer bijuteria com arame. Para além de ter projectos simples e giros, explica muito bem todos os passos bem como as ferramentas que devem ter á mão para desenvolver esta arte. Mais imagens aqui!

Botões / Buttons

Finalmente pus a tesoura nalguns dos meus novos tecidos... (o azulinho é de um retalho lindo que a minha amiga Auri me ofereceu ;)), doeu, mas valeu a pena! Vejam só como ficaram giros os botões! É uma solução mais cara mas ficaram lindos e perfeitinhos! Adorei, estou fãn!

Finaly the scissor “atacked” my new fabrics... (the blue one is from a litle fabric piece that my dear friend Auri gave me ;)), it hurted, but it was worth it! See how cute they are! It's a more expensive way to get covered buttons but they are beautifull and perfect! Loved it, i'm a fan!

Viver / Living

Ás vezes viver num apartamento tem destas coisas... quando se quer ter um quintal....acabamos por ter de puxar pela cabeça e arranjar um "quintalinho" :) Este é o nosso "quintalinho", em breve haverá um 4º elemento para tempero ainda a escolher. Aqui vamos ter (ou esperamos vir a ter!!) salsa, coentros e hortelã :D

Sometimes living in an apartment has this issues...when you want garden... you end up thinking how to get a "mini garden" :) This is our "mini garden", soon there will be a 4th to a temper that we didn't decided yet. Here we will have (or hope to have someday!!) parsley, coriander and mint :D

Toda a gente sonha em ter uma máquina de fazer botões, e infelizmente, acabamos sempre chocadas com os preços, o único sítio onde elas existem a preços DECENTES é do outro lado do atlântico... como este "sonho" fica mais uma vez adiado, vou dar uma chance a outro método de forrar botões. Depois mostro o resultado final desta pequenina "aventura" de forrar botões quase "à mão" :)

Everyone wishes to have a button maker machine, and unfortunatly, we always end up surprised with the prices, the only place you can find it at reasonable price is across the atlantic... this dream is once again put aside, I'm going to give a chance to this other "tecnique". After I try I´ll post the results :)
